The Greater Nashville Regional Council serves as Middle Tennessee’s Area Agency on Aging & Disability (AAAD), one of nine regional agencies statewide whose mission is to plan programs and services and advocate for the older population and adults with disabilities.
About this Program
The Greater Nashville Regional Council’s Area Agency of Aging and Disability (AAAD) is designated by the Tennessee Commission on Aging & Disability to develop a service delivery system in the Greater Nashville region and to advocate for persons 60 years of age or older and adults with physical disabilities. The majority of services are provided through contract with local service provider agencies; however some services are provided directly by the AAAD.
The Greater Nashville AAAD is one of nine AAADs in Tennessee and one of over 600 across the country. The AAADs are part of an “Aging Network” of federal (Administration on Aging), state (Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability) and local Provider agencies.
